Driven by Equity, Rooted in Curiosity
As an administrative assistant at Avisen Legal, I bring a passion for equity, a deep curiosity about the law, and a thoughtful, people-centered approach to my work. I joined Avisen shortly after graduating from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology of Law, Criminology, and Justice. Since I was a kid, I’ve been drawn to the legal field—not just for its rules and structures, but for its potential to shape more equitable outcomes for individuals and communities.
I’m especially interested in making the law accessible and understandable for everyone, and Avisen’s welcoming, collaborative environment has been the perfect place to grow those interests. The team values my “non-lawyer brain” and fresh perspective, which I bring to projects with curiosity, care, and the goal of helping people navigate complex ideas more clearly.
A Foundation of Leadership and Community Engagement
Before joining Avisen, I was active in both academic and community leadership. In high school, I founded EquiTeens Kenosha, a youth-led initiative to help peers engage with conversations about racial equity and social justice. I also helped launch a student-led school board forum—now a tradition carried on by students in my hometown. These experiences reflect my lifelong commitment to civic engagement and helping others find their voice.
During college, I served as an upperclassman representative and committee member for Alpha Chi Omega, while also working as a student data analyst for the University of Minnesota Foundation. That role helped develop the detail-oriented and systems-based mindset I now bring to my work supporting the Avisen team.
Personable, Patient, and People-Focused
I value communication, patience, and collaboration in everything I do. I strive to foster a supportive, organized, and approachable environment for both colleagues and clients. I believe that a positive office culture is built through everyday interactions, and I take pride in contributing to an atmosphere of respect, clarity, and teamwork.
Outside the Office
Outside of work, you’ll find me playing guitar, reconnecting with the violin I studied for nearly a decade, and spending time with my cat, Buddy. I live in Uptown Minneapolis with my partner, and I love exploring the city—especially on long walks, ice cream in hand. Music, movement, and connection keep me grounded, and I’m always looking for ways to stay engaged with my local community and political causes.
