Impact Counsel Case Study: Tru Shrimp

So trū Shrimp’s a wonderful client. They’re an indoor aquaculture company that is based in Minnesota, and they’re growing shrimp. And they’re producing a substance for the biomedical field called chitosan. We got involved with trū Shrimp when they were still a division of a parent company. We actually helped spin them off. Then we helped them raise $20 million in about 60 days. We helped with all their employee work, with their real estate work, and helped with construction.

We’ve helped them examine opportunities for intellectual property and developed that. It’s been a lot of fun. And they’re really looking in a field of indoor protein and sustainable protein that is growing and is really going to be needed. You think about what we do within the impact counsel practice and how we want to make something better in the world, trū Shrimp is really leading that as far as making clean, sustainable protein possible for more people.
