As an Iowa native, I am deeply passionate about sustainable agriculture and how food can change the world. I have worked as a cash commodity trader, logistics coordinator, buy-side merchant, domestic and international business development manager, supply chain builder, corn detasseler, and soybean tester. Now, I’ve finally found my calling as an attorney, helping sustainable AgTech developers succeed in the marketplace.
I use my extensive experience in commodity markets and sustainable business ventures to give a unique perspective on how government incentives and disincentives affect your business. As the economy transitions towards a carbon neutral society, every company is going to have to make decisions on how to change course. I’m here to help.
My professional background and legal training give me a unique insight into how to develop successful business and legal strategies. I quickly understand what your business does, and how I can help. I know what it takes to bring an idea to market, and I am passionate about finding innovative solutions that will give us all cleaner food, cleaner water, and cleaner air.
In my free time I enjoy watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, reading Science Fiction, playing strategy games, and visiting local breweries with my wife and friends.
AgTech Impact Counsel
I understand how business law affects entrepreneurial, emerging, growing, and established companies with respect to mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financing, business formation and structuring, commercial contracting, and real property matters in the Food, Beverage, Agribusiness and AgTech markets.
Energy Transactions
From solar and wind, to renewable natural gas (RNG) projects, I (along with my colleagues) can help you from project inception through early-stage bridge financing, land acquisition, permitting, regulatory matters, and construction, as well as structuring the right finance deal for you to own and operate a successful renewable energy business.
